Legislature gears up as whirlwind start to second Trump term already affects Nevadans

It was an eventful first week for the second Trump Administration, capped by the president’s first visit to Las Vegas since winning the election.

His visit didn’t get the crowds that pre-election rallies got, but that doesn’t mean the visit wasn’t important. It was more like an exclamation point on the 40 executive orders the president made in his first week — orders that will almost immediately affect Nevada.

At the state level, lawmakers will have to take into account potential cuts in federal dollars; or now-authorized raids by ICE on schools, courthouses and places of worship as they hammer out the state’s two-year budget.

Here to talk about that and more are three reporters who cover politics.
