The Nevada League of Cities & Municipalities represents the collective interests of Nevada’s cities and towns, advocating for policy changes that benefit local governments and their communities. League members have reached consensus and influenced change on critical issues, including unfunded mandates, municipal infrastructure funding, leveraging federal programs for community development, municipal input on tax incentives, and expanding local government authority. The Nevada League of Cities & Municipalities actively works to ensure that the voices of Nevada’s cities and towns are heard and their needs are addressed.

Proposing and supporting legislation that dvances municipal interests, including home rule and fiscal stability, while opposing legislation that undermines local authority or imposes unfunded mandates.
Federal Advocacy
Strengthening relationships with Nevada’s Congressional Delegation and federal agencies, while working closely with the National League of Cities (NLC) to influence federal policy and secure grants and earmarks for member municipalities.

We actively engage with legislators, government officials, and key stakeholders to represent the priorities of Nevada’s cities and towns.The League ensures city and town participation between legislative sessions by monitoring and representing municipalities in State agency rule-making processes and interim legislative studies.
Federal Advocacy
Your Voice in Washington
The Nevada League of Cities & Municipalities collaborates with Nevada’s congressional delegation to address issues affecting cities and towns across the state. The League is also an affiliate of the National League of Cities (NLC), working to support and advance NLC’s federal legislative priorities. As an affiliate member of the National League of Cities, League members and staff have the opportunity to serve on NLC Committees. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact NLC.
